Her married name is not known; but it may have started with an "N". From MEGill. Gallagher, Nellie had 3 sons in States. One of the sons was killed in an accident. The surname was not known.

Nellie may have been born in Ireland. She and her parents may have emigrated to the USA in 1895 or 1912. Nellie would have been age 3 in 1895 or 14 in 1912.

Nellie Gillespie's mother was Margaret McShane Gillespie. Margaret McShane Gillespie or Mrs. Dan Gillespie was born in 1878 in Kilcausey, Kilcar, Donegal, IR. She died 28 July, 1952 Greenpoint Hospital, Brooklyn, NY and was buried 31 July, 1952 Calvary, Queens Co., NY.

Margaret had emigrated 40 years before her death. She was a sister to Mr. Michael McShane, Kilcausey, and Mr. Patrick McShane, ex NT, Castlecarn. Margaret McShane is possibly an aunt of Ellen McShane Carr.

According to PaddyG., Margaret was 73 or 74 at her death. She spent 57 years in NY indicating she was 17 when she arrived (@1895) or 34 @1912.
