Miss Mary Gillespie (G26), a native of Ballymacfadden, died at the age of 81 in New York. She emmigrated almost sixty years ago, at the age of 21, and was the last surviving member of a respected Kilcar family. She returned home three times, the last in 1938 when she spent almost a year visiting. She was employed "a long number of years" in the household of the late President Roosevelt.
